The Mechanicals Exhibition

 July 27 2017

This summer The Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham is hosting an excellent Mechanicals exhibition with Cabaret Mechanical Theatre automata. The Mechanicals is a collaborative project between Science Projects Ltd and the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, famous for its collection of beautiful, humorous hand-made automata.

It is an exhibition of two parts. Hand-crafted automata are displayed alongside hands-on exhibits that show the basic mechanisms involved in making the automata work, simplifying the principles behind drives, pulleys, ratchets and levers. The exhibition is accompanies by family friendly activities, creating simple machines inspired by the Mechanicals. Exhibition entry is included in general admission.
