Kent and Medway
Year 7 & 8 students at Chaucer Technology School Canterbury enjoyed a free Science and Mathematics enrichment and enhancement sessions run by Kent & Medway STEM ambassadors. Over 15 STEM Ambassadors visited Chaucer Technology school to run various lessons to enhance the curriculum including:
1. Jelly Cells
Teach students to label cells from eukaryotic organisms using this sweet activity.
2. Marble Mayhem
3. James Bond Mathematics
Help James calculate which event gives him a better chance of winning at cards or dice against his latest enemy. He has a choice in each situation; you need to work out which Bond should make.
4. Shipwreck/Airplane Crash Mathematics
“The children enjoyed making the cell model from jelly and sweets and were very engaged”
“The pupils are very pleased and were asking when our next visit is”
This session was offered to local schools via an email invite and ten Kent and Medway schools enjoyed similar visits by the STEM Ambassadors. If you would like to be considered for future sessions please email us with your up to date contact email address at email@example.com
