STEM at Work

STEM at Work will reveal the wide range of careers available in STEM industries to school pupils, offering an insight into different career pathways.

Schools are invited to bring up to 15 students to attend this free day of exciting and engaging STEM workshops from local companies and organisations.

Each school will visit a variety of interactive workshops and is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in hands-on activity as well as hear about STEM Ambassador’s routes into their STEM careers.

Parking is available on site if requested in advance.

Students will need to bring a packed lunch.

Ambassadors are invited to participate in this event by either running a workshop or leading a school group.

Workshop Leader
STEM Ambassadors who are willing to lead a 25 minute interactive activity with groups of up to 15 students are invited to showcase an exciting element of their job/industry/research/interest in any STEM field. The session could be led by an individual ambassador or a group from the same company. You will repeat the workshop to different schools 4-6 times throughout the day with a break for lunch.

School Group Facilitator
You’ll be paired with a school group and spend the day visiting the different workshops with them. You will take part and encourage the students to get involved. There will be chance for you to talk about your job or career route if you would like too. To volunteer for any of the above please email kentandmedwaystem@canterbury.ac.uk
