Create an Engineering Buzz

Thursday 21 June 2018 - 9.30am - 2.30pm

Canterbury Christ Church University, North Holmes Road, Canterbury, CT1 1QU

Cost: FREE

This year is the year of engineering, this new event 'Create an Engineering Buzz' is about showing students ways in which engineering subjects are used outside of the classroom. We are inviting STEM Ambassadors to support the event by running an interactive workshop/activity or by supporting a school.

Workshop Leader: to run a 25 minute interactive activity with groups of up to 15 students to showcase an exciting element of their job/industry/research/interest. We really want to focus on the workshops being interactive, as this is what gets the most positive feedback and keeps the students engaged throughout. The session could be led by an individual ambassador or a group from the same company. You will repeat the workshop to different schools 4-6 times throughout the day with a break for lunch.

Supporting a School: You will be with a school group for the day visiting the different workshops and a science show, there will be up to 10 groups of 15 students, all accompanied by their teachers. You can get hands-on with the activities and support students in smaller groups.

Lunch and refreshments are provided.
